Through bodybuilding and various websites over the years, I got to know Hilly pretty well
We had both seen each other go through various diets, growing phases and show preps (unbelievable I know from the start pics, but I have been on stage twice)
18 months ago I was struggling a bit. Had gone on my own, wasn’t looking or feeling my best and my food/calorie intake was pretty low, despite training and having a physical job. I put a new plan forward about eating and Hilly basically told me I was going to burn out.
Although he meant it in the nicest possible way my reply of “well you tell me what to do then!” was the best thing I could have done
Within a week I had a new meal and training plan and my cardio was cut down.
Of course, I naturally went into crisis mode “I’m eating more! I’m moving less! I’m going to get fat!” Kept going around in my head
Well…… yes, some initial weight went on but then it stabilised.
Over the next 6 months, my weight came down and my strength went up.
A gradual decrease of carbs came as I went to Ibiza (looking half decent) but this was to be expected.
After landing back home a whole new plan came into action.
From then and over the Christmas months my carbs raise to probably triple on days to what I was eating before with no real gain in fat and I was back to my original weight when starting with Hilly but in far better shape
The usual summer holiday got booked…. and along came the “holiday prep” head.
Should have known not to worry as weight dropped each week and for once I didn’t have to starve myself to look in shape.
In the last 18months, Hilly has totally changed my body, my metabolism and my psychology towards training and eating. I will gladly work with him as long as I can
